Special Concepts

There are two transfer types available on the VVX phones.  Consultive transfer allow you to transfer a call, announcing the call to the recipient prior to completing the transfer.  This is useful so that the person the call is being transferred to is alerted of the nature of the call before being connected.  A blind transfer sends the call to the recipient without any announcing of the call.  This is a fast way to transfer a call, but can lead to the recipient being surprised by the content of the call.

Steps

Transfering a call

Standard Desk Phone:

Consultative:

While on a call, select the Transfer button along the bottom of the screen, enter the phone number to transfer the call to, then press Send.

After you announce the call, select the Transfer button again, or hang up the receiver, to complete the transfer.

Note:  If the transfer destination does not answer, you will not be able to complete the transfer.  If you want to send the call to the destinations voice mail, you should use the "Blind" transfer method detailed below.

When the transferred call is transferred to the destination the caller ID will change, on the destination, to that of the original caller.
