Should I approve every request to access my account?
No. You should only approve a request if you see a pop-up dialog box stating it sent you a request. Otherwise, you should NEVER blindly approve a request to access your account.
Will I have to use it if I use O365 on classroom, lab or conference room computers?
Yes. You will have to approve the login from a classroom, lab or conference room computer.
What if I don't have a cell phone?
You can use an alternate phone, such as a home phone or office phone. Please call the Technology Support Center at 812-237-2910 or visit us in Stalker Hall 009.
What if I want to use my cell phone and my ISU office phone for security verification?
You can add alternate phone information after the initial setup. You will need to have access to each phone during the set up process.
Do I have to use the Authenticator app?
No. This is one of the multiple methods of verification.
What if I lose my cell phone?
You should report that you have lost your cell phone to OIT.
What if I lose my cell phone and need to authenticate?
If you have created multiple security verification methods select one of the other methods (i.e. alternate phone). Otherwise, contact OIT for assistance.
What if I get a new cell phone and need to authenticate?
If you get a new cell phone and keep the same phone number you can use an alternate method when logging in then have the code texted to it. Once you authenticate you can set up the new phone as their verification phone by following instructions at https://indstate.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1851/Portal/KB/ArticleDet.aspx?ID=66081 to add new methods or change your default method.
Will I still be able to use Outlook or am I required to use a web browser?
You can still use Outlook the same way you always have once you have set up MFA and authenticated the first time. However, if you use a web browser for accessing O365 you will be required to use MFA.
Will I be able to set up my personal computer to access email?
If you have your computer set up at home to access ISU email on Outlook you will be required to use MFA the first time only. However, if you use a web browser for accessing O365 you will be required to use MFA.
Will I have to authenticate while I am on campus?
No. As long as you are on campus and using a campus IP address you will not have to use MFA, but you are still required to set up MFA regardless if you are on or off campus.
