OIT replaces lab machines on a five-seven year life cycle. This allows the lab owners to know when their labs will be replaced for planning purposes. There are some exceptions to the five-seven year plan based on the needs of lab owners, but for most the five-seven year life cycle is the standard. This matrix provides a twelve year view of when lab owners can expect their labs to be refreshed. As with any long term plan things can change, but OIT will discuss changes with the lab owners as soon as they are known. Changes that can occur are computer hardware technology, software, and funding.
