Report an Upcoming Office Relocation

Description

Whether it is one individual changing offices, or an entire department relocating to a different building, a lot of changes need to occur behind the scenes to ensure continuous IT related services.

Standard Services and Features

With two weeks notification, your area consultant will assist with planning the technology changes intrinsic to changing locations.  These efforts include:

  • Updating computer information and ISU inventory.
  • Coordinating with networking so IP addresses are transitioned.
  • Coordinating with telecommunications to ensure connectivity is available in the new location.

SLA:  You can expect this service to be completed in 10 business days.

Constraints/Scope

Only Faculty or Staff may submit a relocation request.

OIT does not physically move equipment, please contact Facilities Management to contract mover services. Printers must be reported to Ricoh for moving.

We cannot guarantee full service with less than two weeks notice.

During peak times of the year, such as the start of school in August, this service may be limited.

Directions

If you are reporting a department relocation, a single point of contact within the department will need to be identified.

While not required in the form, we will need to gather the names of all the computers and printers that are to be moved.  If many devices are involved, the department should begin to gather that information as soon as possible.
