Operating System Installation (TSC Drop Off)

Description

This service facilitates the installation or re-installation of operating systems on University-owned computers and student computers. The supported operating systems include Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Standard Services and Features 

Pick-up Service

  • This service includes picking up the machine if you are unable to drop it off at the Technology Support Center. (Available for staff and faculty only.)

Data Backup

  • Upon request, we provide assistance with backing up your data as part of this service.
  • It is strongly recommended to maintain a backup of your data on OneDrive.
  • Inform us if your data exists outside of your default user profile on the computer.

Application of Gold Standard Image

  • After securely backing up your data, we will apply a gold standard image to your equipment.
  • Currently, this includes Windows 11 for compatible devices and Windows 10 for non-compatible devices.

Data Restoration

  • We assist in restoring your data onto your computer by connecting to your OneDrive account.

Return to User

  • The Technology Support Center will contact students, staff, and faculty to schedule a pick-up.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

  • Completion of this service is expected within 10 business days.

Scope/Constraints

This service is restricted to students and staff/faculty with ISU owned equipment.  

Directions

This service is specifically intended for University-owned computers (faculty, staff) and student computers. Please note that it is not available for personal computers belonging to faculty or staff members. For further details, please contact our IT Help Desk.
