Introduction
OIT manages the computer inventory for the University with the goal of ensuring best use of resources.
Academic Departments
Computers used in academic area will be replaced when they are no longer meeting the needs of the position. These computers will be replaced with high-quality computers from the University's pool of computers.
If we do not have a device in the pool that meets the required specifications, a computer can be purchased with approval by the department chair and OIT. These purchases are funded by Academic Affairs.
Non-Academic Departments
We recommend that all computers are replaced using the same criteria used by academic areas. Once the device is no longer meeting the needs of position, it should be replaced. Non-academic departments must provide funding for computer replacements.
The computers that are being replaced will be moved into the University's pool of computers if there is no immediate need for the device within that department.
Pool computers are available for use by non-academic departments for student employee devices, temporary staff, or short-term loan.
