Introduction
The Microsoft Education LTI, implemented in December 2025, unifies several Microsoft tools into a single interface inside Canvas, allowing faculty and students to access collaboration features, meetings, files, and notebooks without leaving the LMS. The key integrated apps are:
- Microsoft Teams (Classes)- Provides access to the course’s connected Microsoft Teams class, including collaboration spaces, class channels, shared files, and roster‑based syncing.
- Microsoft Teams Meetings- Enables scheduling and joining Teams Meetings directly from Canvas, including support for viewing upcoming meetings, past meeting history, and meeting recordings.
- OneDrive- Allows faculty and students to access, share, and embed OneDrive files directly within Canvas modules and course content, streamlining the workflow between Microsoft 365 storage and Canvas.
- OneNote Class Notebook- Integrates Class Notebook creation and management into Canvas, giving instructors shared collaboration spaces and private student notebooks for distributing content and feedback.
You will find the Microsoft Education link in the Course Navigation menu:
