Introduction
In Canvas course files, there is an outdated Course Readiness Checklist file that Ally flags as inaccessible and reducing the Accessibility Report score. This file, and a link pointing to this file, need to be removed in order for Ally to generate an accurate accessibility score.
Steps
Remove the Course Readiness Checklist file
- Access your Canvas course and click Files in the course navigation.
- Click Uploaded Media

- On the right side of the screen, select the course-readiness-checklist.docx file, click the three dots menu, and select Delete from the dropdown menu.

Remove the Link to the Course Readiness Checklist
- Click Pages in the course navigation.
- Click the View All Pages button.
- Click the Start Building Your Course page.
- Click Edit.
- Scroll down to the Important Reminders section and highlight the line below, and remove the line by hitting the Delete key, Backspace key, or select Edit> Cut from the dropdown menu.

- Click the blue Save button at the bottom of the page.
Note: Although the file and the link are deleted immediately, it may take some time for the Accessibility Report to detect these changes. You may wish to wait a few minutes before generating a new Accessibility Report.
