ISULive Digital Signage Transition

Introduction

ISU is preparing to transition from its current ISULive digital signage system to the Rise Vision Digital Signage platform. This change is driven by several key factors:

  • Legacy System Limitations: The original ISULive system was custom-built by former OIT staff. While it met basic signage needs, it lacks support for modern media formats and social media integration.

  • No Developer Support: ISU no longer has a developer available to maintain or enhance the custom system, making future updates or troubleshooting difficult.

  • Modern Capabilities with Rise Vision: Rise Vision offers a cloud-based, scalable solution that supports:

    • Media formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, PowerPoint, PDF, Excel

    • Social media platforms: X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat

    • A wide variety of templates for easy content creation

This transition ensures ISU signage remains current, flexible, and easier to manage across departments.

Actions and Timeline

OIT will reach out to each college and department with a current ISULive setup to determine exact details of the transition requirements (equipment, subscription agreements, setup/deployments). Tentatively, we are targeting project completion by the middle of the Spring 2026 semester.

Cost Breakdown

Player - $300

Note:  Required only if the current hardware cannot support Windows 11

Annual Subscription - $159

Note:  Price drops to $125 per display/player when ISU has more than 70 active displays

Billing will go directly to the department or college.
