Introduction
This is a guide on how to look-up an asset or assets from an asset application in TDX.
Steps
Go to the appropriate asset application in the Technician view in TeamDynamix (TDNext). For instance, computers and devices are tracked within the Computer Inventory asset app.
Quick Search
- From within the asset app, you will notice that you have multiple search boxes.
- The first search box is a global search and can be used to find an asset. I typically don't recommend that as you'll also pull in anything (tickets, tasks, projects, etc) that the search gets a hit on.
- The second search box is specific to the application you are currently in. This is normally the better route to use when searching for a specific asset.
- You can use the search functionality to look-up by computer name, property tag, or serial number.
- Press Enter to search. - If it hits on an asset, the asset will open up in a new window.
Advanced Search
Perhaps you want to do a search of multiple assets or just want more advanced filtering to find an individual asset.
- From within the asset app, click on "Assets" on the left hand side.
- Then click the green filter button on the far right.
- This will provide you with a number of filtering options for both standard and custom fields that we have added for assets. Adjust as desired.
- Once ready, click the green Apply button at the top to filter.
