Summary
Guide for transferring calls, forwarding calls, and off-campus calling when using analog phones on campus.
Body
Introduction
Indiana State University provides analog phone services to areas and equipment as necessary. The processes below provide details on how to perform the basic functions of the system.
Steps
Transferring a Call
- Once you have answered the phone, use the Flash button to put the caller on hold
- Then dial the number you want to transfer to
- After establishing the connection with the person you are transferring to, hang up the phone to complete the transfer
An example of transferring a call:
A = transferring party
B = transferred party
C = transferred to party
- A Calls B.
- B answers.
- A presses the hook-flash button and places B on-hold (party B hears a hold tone).
- A dials C.
- After A completes dialing C, A on-hooks the phone to transfer the call so that the call is established between B and C
Forwarding a Call
To set Call Forward:
- Pick up the phone handset
- Press *72
- Enter the number that the phone needs to be forwarded to
- After hearing a fast-busy tone, hang up the phone
To disable Call Forward:
- Pick up the phone handset
- Press *73
- After hearing a fast-busy tone, hang up the phone
Off-campus Calling:
To call off campus, type in the number normally. There is no longer a code required to call off campus. You do not have to use 97 at the beginning of the dialed phone number.
