Operating System Installation

Description

This service is to request the installation of a new operating system or to re-install your current operating system.  Current operating systems for this service include Windows 10 and Mac OS Ventura.

Standard Services and Features 

  • Pick-up
    • Part of this service includes a machine pick-up if you are unable to drop off the machine to the Technology Support Center (staff and faculty only)
  • Data Back-up
    • If requested, we can assist you back-up your data as part of this service.
      • It is highly recommended you maintain a back-up of your data in OneDrive.
    • If your data exists on your computer outside of your default user profile, please let us know.
  • Application of Gold Standard Image
    • Once your data is securely backed up, we will apply a gold standard image to your equipment.  Currently this is Windows 10 for PCs and OS X Ventura for Macs.
    • We run Windows and Apple updates to ensure your machine is up-to-date.
  • Data Restoration
    • We can help you restore your data back onto your computer, usually by connecting your OneDrive account.
  • Return to user
    • Students, Staff, and Faculty will be contacted by the Technology Support Center to schedule a pick-up.

SLA:  You can expect this service to be completed in 10 business days.

Constraints/Scope

This service is for University-owned computers (faculty and staff) and student computers (students).  Scholarship and rentals units are covered without charge.  Students bringing in a personal computer (non-scholarship model) will be charged $30 for this service.  This service is not available for faculty/staff personal computers.

 

Directions 

Staff, Faculty, and Students can bring their computers to the Technology Support Center located in Stalker Hall, room 009.  Reminder: The Technology Support Center accepts walk-ins. However is it highly recommended to schedule an appointment so we can make the most out of the given time.  Please use the following link to schedule an appointment and select "General Support" as your appointment type.
