Software - Installation


OIT offers options for obtaining software that can be obtained in different ways:

SPSS – Students

  • For class requests the Technology Support Center will need the MyISU University Username, University ID Number, course name and section number of anyone who requires access.
  • For individual student (grad or undergrad) requests, a faculty member can request access for the student by providing their MyISU University Username and University ID Number.

SPSS – Faculty

PC users can follow the instructions below:
Faculty can download SPSS for their own use on an ISU owned computer by:

  1. Going to the Application Catalog (
  2. Logging in with their ISU credentials
  3. Click on Activate Silverlight
  4. Click on SPSS in the Application List
  5. Click on the blue INSTALL box on the lower right side of the page

Adobe Creative Cloud

Only Faculty or Staff can request to have Creative Cloud installed on ISU property tagged computers, but requires a license approval.  If you are requesting Adobe Creative Cloud complete a Software Service Request (click to open) and under "Type of Purchase" select "Productivity/License Only" and then select "Adobe Creative Cloud".

If none of the above options fulfills your need, Faculty and Staff can request a quote for and purchase of software needed for their job.  The quote and purchase will be made through our official third party retailer.  The user will fill out a form for the request for a quote, generating a ticket.  The ticket will be assigned to the TSS Administrative Specialist with the Resource Manager on copy.  Once the quote is received, it will be attached to the ticket and the ticket reassigned to the requestor.  The user will then put information in the ticket to actually request the software be purchased.  Software will be paid for by requestors department.  After the software is purchased and received (electronically), installation will be done through SCCM (TIS), through Microsoft Volume Licensing Site or by a consultant.

This service is for faculty and staff.

Students who need assistance with installing software are encouraged to call the Technology Support Center (TSC) at 812-237-2910 or visit the TSC in the basement of Stalker Hall, room 009.
