Purpose
The Indiana State University has standardized the ownership and configuration for computers to help reduce total inventory and create a more efficient process for procurement, pricing and support.
Application
- This set of standards applies to all ISU faculty and staff.
- These standards must be followed when assigning a computer workstation to ISU faculty and staff.
Exceptions
OIT recognizes that there are technology needs which are possibly not met by the established standards and will work with individuals or departments to obtain the proper equipment for their needs. Exceptions may require additional approvals.
Standards
- Laptop with a desktop package which includes:
- Laptop with 16 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, and a modern processor
- One laptop charger
- Docking Station with charger
- Wired keyboard and mouse
- Up to two 24" or one ultra-wide displays
- Only one workstation package will be assigned per faculty or staff member.
- Faculty and staff requesting a new workstation or equipment must return the currently assigned workstation or equipment when new equipment is issued.
- Computer equipment is eligible to be replaced when it is no longer meeting the needs of the assigned individual.
- Computers will be updated using pre-used stock when that is available. All reissued devices have been fully refurbished and meet the specifications above.
