Introduction
The 25H2 update is the next major feature update for the Windows 11 system, adding a host of enhancements for performance, customization, and AI integration. Many of its features were already added and dormant in the previous 24H2 package and are simply activated thru an ‘enablement package’, meaning installation should take minimal time and effort. See improvements and installation instructions below.
Installation Instructions
This patch will show up and automatically download in Windows Update unless you have updates manually paused. If it does not show up, make sure to have the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available’ toggle turned on.

Because many of this update’s features are already baked into the previous update’s (24H2) core, downloading this update should not take too much downtime. Regardless, make sure to keep your PC plugged in and put some time aside to let it load.

New Features
Revamped Start Menu
25H2 remodels the Windows Start Menu to offer more customization flexibility. You can now switch between 3 views:

This update also offers greater control over pinned apps, and the option to disable app recommendations for a cleaner look.
Enhanced AI Integration
25H2 allows access to Copilot in a few new spots, the most impactful being File Explorer. Copilot offers context-aware tasks like “visual search” and AI-powered file shortcuts:
