Installing NetSarang (XShell and Xftp) Version 8 Products

Introduction

As of December 2024, NetSarang has implemented a major, required update to two products that ISU uses: Xshell and Xftp. Users must update to version 8 in order to continue using the product. This article should help with navigating around the installation of version 8.

Steps for Installing the Product

  1. Open Company Portal.
  2. In the Search Apps field, type in Xftp or Xshell depending on the product needed.
  3. Select the product, followed by clicking the Install button.
  4. Allow the installation to run.
  5. Search for Xftp or Xshell under Windows Search. This ensures that the product has been successfully installed.

Steps for Importing Connection Profiles

  1. Navigate to OneDrive > Documents > NetSarang Computer > 7.
  2. Navigate to the Sessions folder under XShell or XFTP.
  3. Copy all files from inside the folder.
  4. Navigate to OneDrive > Documents > NetSarang Computer > 8.
  5. Navigate to the Sessions folder under XShell or XFTP.
  6. Paste files into the folder.
  7. Test product to make sure connection profiles are showing up.

Additional Information

You should be able to uninstall version 7 of your NetSarang product if it was previously installed through Company Portal. Otherwise contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) at 812-237-2910.
