Introduction
This article will outline how to convert an existing ticket to a task within a project plan. This can be helpful if you have existing tickets that really should be a task as part of a project.
Steps
These steps assume that you have already created the ticket that you wish to convert to a project task.
- Open the project plan and check it out
- In the toolbar, click "Convert Tickets". (Note: If working from a Cardwall plan, you can find the same option by clicking the 3 dots for the appropriate list)
- This will open a new window asking you to choose the appropriate ticketing app where the ticket resides.
- Use the green filter button on the right to assist in locating your ticket of choice.
- Check the box to the left of the ticket(s) once found.
- Click "Convert To Task" at the top which will convert the ticket to a task on your project plan.
- Check in the project plan to save changes.
NOTE: Once a ticket has been converted, it will retain the details from when it was a ticket, but you will no longer be able to update it as a normal ticket (Update as a normal task on the project). You will also not be able to access tasks or maintenance activities associated with the ticket. To reverse the conversion, delete the task from the project plan and check it back in. This will change the task back to a ticket and restore access to previous ticket tasks and maintenance activities.
