Summary
Staff and faculty who are working from home or off campus may need to connect to resources that are only available from on campus, such as the L: Drive. Connecting to the VPN provides a secure and easy-to-use method for connecting to the campus network.
Body
Introduction
OIT is offering a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service for those who are working from off-campus. If you need access from off-campus to on-campus resources like the L: Drive, you will want to set this up.
Stop! You must be using an ISU laptop to set up and activate the VPN. You must also have a good standard Internet connection where you expect to use the VPN.
Special Concepts
Open Internet Access and ISU Networks
Some ISU applications can be accessed through any internet connection, but others (due to security protocols) will require that you use the ISU network. To access these applications, you will need to connect through ISU's VPN. Once connected, you will be connected as if you are on campus.
