How to Set Up Endpoint Encryption Password Self Recovery


If you've forgotten your password you can reset it after correctly answering the personal recovery questions you set when you logged in for the first time.

  • If you've recently updated your University password you may need to log in with your old University password and update it in McAfee.
  • If you have not changed your University password, please follow the instructions below.

1. When prompted for your password, click Options.

2. When the options are displayed, click Recovery.

3. Choose Question and Answer Recovery or Self-Recovery (depending on the version), and enter your ISU University Username in the User name field and click. OK.

4. Enter your answer to the first question and then click Next.

5. After you've entered the answers for all three questions, click Finish

Enter a new password, confirm it, and click OK



After completing these steps your encryption password should be reset and allow you to log on to your computer.
