Install Adobe Creative Cloud and Acrobat for Mac Users


All ISU faculty and staff that have an Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Acrobat license will be able to download the apps. Apps available include Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic.  The following steps will guide you through the process of installing Adobe Creative Cloud on your machine.

Steps to Install Adobe Acrobat and Creative Cloud for Macintosh Computers

  1. Go to
  2. On the left, click on Coursework Software
  3. Select Acrobat Pro for Mac or Adobe Creative Cloud for Mac (the installation process is the same)
  4. Click Login to enter your ISU credentials and then click the Download Now link in the bottom right.  Save the file to your desktop.
  5. Once the download is complete close all programs that are open.  IF you are unsure, click the apple symbol in the upper left and select Force Quit.  You can use this utility to close all programs (Leave the Finder open but close the rest).
  6. Open the CCDesktopappWup64.dmg file. 
  7. Open the build folder
  8. Open the CCDesktopAppWup_Install.pkg
  9. You may get a security notice stating the app is an unidentified developer.  If you get this please follow the following steps:
    • Click ok on the security notice
    • Open the system preferences by clicking the apple in the top left, and selecting system preferences
    • Open Security and Privacy
    • In the lower right you will see a notice about the CCDesktopApp being blocked. Click the “Open Anyway” button, followed by the “Open” button when prompted for confirmation.
    • Close the Security and Privacy panel.
  10. Click Continue to allow the install to begin
  11. Continue on the “You will be guided through the steps” dialogue
  12. Select the primary disk if asked, then click Install
  13. Provide login credentials to your Mac allowing the install to proceed.
  14. Once the install finishes, click close.
  15. After the install is completed, restart your computer.
  16. You should be prompted to login. If not click on the adobe icon  in the upper right.
  17. At the prompt, enter your full ISU email address and press tab.  Click on the button that says “Enterprise ID”.  The Acrobat or Creative Cloud app will log in automatically.
  18. Once logged in you will be presented with a list of Adobe apps that are installed on your machine, as well as a list of available applications.  If you are licensed for the entire Adobe CC Suite, you will see all of those applications as installable or upgradable.  If you are only licensed for Adobe Acrobat, you will find it available for installation on the list. If you are not licensed, applications will show as trial version and display “try now”.
  19. Some of your previously installed Acrobat or Creative Cloud apps will be required to be updated before they will run.
    • Click Update All button under the apps tab of the Adobe Acrobat or Creative Cloud application.


After installing the Adobe Acrobat or Creative Cloud Desktop application, you should be able to log in using the enterprise log in and launch any of the Adobe applications to which you have been granted a license.
