Laptop:  The laptop offered for Fall 2022 through the Personal Laptop Purchase Program is a Microsoft Surface Laptop Go with Touch screen, Intel Core i5 processor, 8 gig of RAM, 256GB Solid State Drive, 3 Year Warranty and 3 Year (max 2 incidents)  Accidental Damage Protection. 

To ensure delivery before the start of classes, we suggest you order your laptop as early as possible. If you do not receive your laptop by the start of classes, contact the Technology Support Center if you need to borrow a laptop until your purchased unit arrives.

Purchase Considerations

  1. Indiana State provides excellent support for the student laptop purchased above. Should you have a problem with it come to the Technology Support Center located in the basement of Stalker Hall to have it repaired (hardware or software) Laptops not purchased through the above program will only receive software service. The Technology Support Center cannot repair hardware issues for non-supported laptops. 
  2. Indiana State provides cloud storage to students for storage of files, so you can store files in the cloud and access them over the wireless or wired network anywhere on or off campus. Visit OneDrive File Storage for Students for instructions for storing files in your OneDrive account which is part of your Sycamores Email account.


  • These laptops are fully supported on campus in our Technology Support Center (TSC) located in the basement of Stalker Hall. For accidental damage and replacement of parts we will ship the device to Microsoft for repair and provide a loaner laptop for use during the repair time.
  • Each laptop comes with a three-year warranty and accidental damage protection plan. 
  • The TSC will also provide full software support for the unit, including helping with installation of Office 365 Pro Plus. Office 365 Pro Plus is a version of Office that's available through your Office 365 account by logging in to It includes the applications that you're familiar with, including Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint,  Skype for Business, and Word.   • If you have any trouble with the software or hardware on these laptops simply make an appointment to take it to the Technology Support Center and they will fix it right up! What to Do After You Receive Your New Computer

  1. Follow manufacturer’s guidelines for basic setup and operation
  2. If you need assistance, bring your new laptop to the Technology Support Center on the lower level of Stalker Hall when it arrives – click on the link above to set up an appointment for help to install the latest image and to help you get your laptop set up to work on campus!
