Purpose
This document is intended to guide users on how to properly utilize YuJa Lecture Capture for the best recording experience. The Software Station is used for creating recordings, is downloadable through YuJa and provides the means to record a combination of Web-Camera, Desktop and Microphone.
Application
This standard applies to anyone using YuJa Software Station at Indiana State University.
Standards
Below are the minimum standard specifications for hardware and software needed to run the YuJa Software Station
1. Minimum Requirements - Computer
Windows PC
- Processor: 2 GHz x86 – or x64-bit Dual-Core Processor (Recommended: 2.4 GHz, Quad-Core)
- Memory (RAM): 2 GB RAM (Recommended: 4 GB RAM)
- Hard Disk: 100 MB for install (approximately 250 MB per hour of content for temporary storage)
- Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 (both 32 and 64 bit versions)
- USB Webcam/Mic: Required for local video and audio capture
- In good working condition
- Administrator account access for installation*
Apple PC
- Processor: 2 GHz x86 – or x64-bit Dual-Core Processor (Recommended: 2.4 GHz, Quad-Core)
- Memory (RAM): 2 GB RAM (Recommended: 4 GB RAM)
- Hard Disk: 100 MB for install (approximately 250 MB per hour of content for temporary storage)
- Operating System: macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or higher
- USB Webcam/Mic: Required for local video and audio capture
- In good working condition
- Administrator account access for installation*
*All personal computers will provide this by default. If your computer is owned by your employer or other entity, you may not have an Administrator account.
2. Best Practices
- Use a USB headset and noise cancelling microphone.
- For best CPU performance, you should keep the amount of other programs running to a minimum while recording.
3. Minimum Requirements - Browser
- Browser: Latest version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based), or Firefox browsers.
- Operating System: Windows 10, macOS 10.15 or higher, or the latest ChromeOS.
- Internet Connection: A stable connection of 8-10mbps download and 3-6mbps upload is recommended.
4. Minimum Requirements - Mobile
Android
- Operating System: Android 7 (Android Nougat) or higher
- Camera / Mic: For video and audio recording**
iOS
- Operating System: iOS 11 or higher
- Camera / Mic: For video and audio recording**
** YuJa for Mobile records microphone and camera. This is not a screen capture tool.
