Online Instruction Quick Start Guide


This article is intended for faculty who will be teaching online courses and will assist them in learning the essential Blackboard functions to deliver online education.

How to Access Blackboard

  1. From your computer, open a recommended web browser (i.e., Google Chrome or Firefox).
  2. Next, type in the following address into the URL bar:
  3. Sign in to Blackboard using your ISU username and password (this will be the same information you use for accessing the ISU Portal).

How to Open Your Course

  1. Once logged into Blackboard, you should see two options at the top of the page: “My Institution” and “Courses."
  2. Select the "Courses" tab.
  3. Directly below that you should see “Course List." This is where you will be able to find your current courses.
