Term Definition
Contact Group  A contact group (formerly called a "distribution list") may be created and used to send an email to multiple people such as a project team, committee, department, without having to add each name to the To, Cc, Bcc line individually.
Microsoft 365 Group A Microsoft 365 Group, also referred to in Oulook as Group, may be created and used to collaborate with a specific set of people and use the same email distribution list, calendar, shared document storage, Planner, OneNote Notebook.
